Advanced Training with YouTube

The Executive MBA Business Integration of the Julius-Maximilians-University of Wuerzburg takes the new challenges of the higher management into account and includes web 2.0 into the curriculum. The goal is to show managers the opportunities as well as the risks of Twitter, YouTube and blogs and to communicate the strategic potential of these platforms.

New media become more and more important

The reason is the fact that new media is becoming more and more important for companies. Many big companies, e. g. Daimler, Siemens or Deutsche Bank, are using the web 2.0 applications for product information, for human resources development, for customer communication and for numerous other tasks. Looking at the specific offers, one can easily see that the strategic dimension of those applications is seldom seized properly. The knowledge of the people in charge about the new technologies is too small, and the fear of facing unknown is too big.

News at Twitter

The Executive MBA Business Integration is active at Twitter as „TheExecutiveMBA“ since 2009 (twitter.com/TheExecutiveMBA). Short messages for students, alumni, instructors as well as interested persons are being published regularly.

Videos at YouTube

Now, YouTube is following. Within the second quarter of 2010, the first movie about the MBA program has been uploaded on the YouTube channel „TheExecutiveMBA“ (youtube.com/TheExecutiveMBA). The short ad offers basic information about the study program as well as the locations and includes also interviews with instructors and current students. The contents will be enlarged regularly. Shortly, a series of interviews with selected instructors of the study program will be provided.

Blog at WordPress

The third pillar of the web 2.0 applications will be a weblog that will be started at the middle of the year (TheExecutiveMBA.wordpress.com). Prospective students can inform themselves about the processes around the study program. Furthermore, it shall offer a platform for instructors and alumni to publish their experiences and knowledge on the topic of the part-time further education program.
