Tradition and Innovation

As one of the top ten leading universities in Germany as rated by the Excellence initiative of the German federal go­vernment as well as on rankings of national and international research organizations and by expert committees, Julius-Maximilians-University of Wuerzburg belongs to the top group of academic institutions in many scientific areas, not only in Europe, but worldwide. With a tradition and a history that is over 600 years old and its ten schools, in which over 400 professors research and teach, as well as more than 20,000 enrolled students, it is one of the finest and most renowned teaching and research institutions in Germany.

Established Array of Research

A university’s success in academic instruction is largely defined by the quality, the intensity and the inge­nuity of its research. Important scien­tists – amongst them numerous Nobel Prize winners – have at all times shaped the research climate in this city located on the Main river that even today influence international scientific discussions: Eduard Buchner, Felix Dahn, Rudolf Albert von Koelliker, Wilhelm Wien, Klaus von Klitzing, Theodor Boveri, Matthias von Lexer, Franz Brentano, Rudolf Virchow, Ferdinand Braun and, last but not least, Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen. In 1895, in what is known today as the Röntgenring, Röntgen discovered the X-rays. These are just some of the famous personalities that have shaped the working conditions in Wuerzburg and which have helped leverage research results of the Julius-Maximilians-University to high standing both nationally and internationally. Currently there are over 6,000 scientific papers published in Wuerzburg yearly, there are eight special research areas, seven graduate colleges and a number of other research centers and emphases which involve diverse research groups.

Versatile Offers of Lectures

The Executive MBA Business Integration resides within the School of Management. In addition to this program, there are other degree programs which include bachelor’s programs in Economics, Business Information Management and Business Mathematics as well as master’s programs in Business Management, Economics and Business Information Management.
