Module: Management of Business Processes

Module: Management of Business Processes

Doing the right things – Doing things right

Problem & Task

The enormous complexity of the operating processes within and between companies are difficult to present in a clear manner. The positive effects of seamless functioning does not generate any externally perceivable effects and is therefore often ignored in the context of management training. Especially in highly developed economies, the ability to both control and flexibly design business processes is becoming a decisive competitive factor.

Objectives

In light of this fact, management functions are becoming increasingly complex. The transformation from function-orientation to case-orientation as well as the ability to utilize information processing systems in a task-oriented manner requires managers who are not tied to thinking within the confines of their area or to classical processing structures. Participants therefore learn how the integration of organization and information can reduce operative tasks and improve strategic activities.

Approach

This module is designed as a distance learning unit. Participants work at home on the complex business tasks provided. Knowledge gained through the program is thereby condensed and applied to real corporate situations. A business information system for extracting and processing information is utilized in a practice-oriented manner. The goal of the module is the internalization of the ideas and functions of integration. By combining theory and practice, as well as supporting the move from isolated cases to the whole, participants gain knowledge about how modern managers can work to meet the demands they are facing.
