The new module Logistics, planned under the supervision of Professor Dr. Rainer Thome, is for the first time taking place as a block course from April 7 until April 11, 2008, in the lecture hall at Josef-Stangl-Platz 2.
With a yearly turnover of € 180 billion and 2.6 million employees, Logistics is the third biggest industry in Germany. The dynamical development in the emerging countries, in front of all Brazil, Russia, India and China, continues the increase of the recent years, so Logistics is becoming a key industry. The global sourcing, production and allocation of goods are creating a need for a strategic management of the underlying logistic network. |
The goal of the module is to communicate to the participants on the one hand the basics of logistics in a practical-oriented way as well as on the other hand the organization and control of intern and extern performance relationships and to create an awareness for the meaning and the effectiveness of logistical networks.
