The position of the director of BASFs’ Competence Center Information Services is finally appointed and will be taken up by Dr. Robert Blackburn. From January 1, 2012 on, the logistics and IT expert will take up the position as president for the Chemical Concern headquartered in Ludwigshafen, providing the BASF with services in the field of information technology. Dr. Blackburn is a much valued expert and instructor for the Executive MBA course of the University of Wuerzburg in the fields of International Project Management.

 



Professional positions at Siemens, IBM and BASF

The new head of the Information Services was born in Massachusetts and did his doctorate at the University of Wuerzburg. Before he joined BASF, he was Senior Vice President and Head of Corporate Portfolio Development at Siemens AG. Prior to this, he was acting as Vice President for IBM. Since 2007 he is responsible as Senior Vice President for Global Supply Chain and Process Innovation at BASF. Despite his new tasks he will continue as a instructor for the MBA students of the University of Wuerzburg, sharing his experience of his various fields of operation with them.
