Dr. Peter Zencke, long-time Chief Innovation Officer at SAP, becomes the new honorary professor at the Julius-Maximilians-University of Würzburg. With his nomination, his commitment as instructor for many years in various courses of the School of Management and Economics is acknowledged. The official conferment of the title takes place in the Tuscany Hall on Saturday, September 22, at 1:30pm at the Princebishop’s Residence in Würzburg.
Manager in the fields of innovation and applied developmentsAfter his studies of mathematics and economics, Dr. Peter Zencke took his doctoral degree in 1980 at the University of Bonn. After having established the new degree course ‘economical mathematics’ at the University of Trier, he started his professional career with SAP in Walldorf. Being manager in the field of Applied Developments for the standard-software R/2 and R/3 as well as for industrial solutions at the first place, he continued his career as member of the board from 1993 on until 2008. His main tasks consisted of the responsibilities in the field of innovations and the expansion in the asian-pacific area. |
Theoretical and practical knowledge going hand in handThe global research network of SAP represented another responsibility of Dr. Peter Zencke. Due to his strong affinity to dynamical developments within universities, the integration of most recent scientific realisations at universities was a very important matter to him. Therefore, he is a driving counsellor for the Executive MBA program at the University of Würzburg. With his commitment as advisor and instructor, he looks personally into the matter of a reasonable balance between theoretical knowledge and practical applications. Festive Conferment at the Residence of WürzburgThe University of Würzburg shows its acknowledgement for the outstanding work of Dr. Peter Zencke with the conferment of an honorary professorship and looks very much forward to this ongoing commitment. Professor Dr. Hubert Österle from the Faculty of Business Informatics at the University of St. Gallen will hold a lecture in honour of this achievement. Afterwards, the conferment of the degree ‘professor’ will be conducted by the Dean of Studies of the School of Management and Economics, Professor Dr. Hansrudi Lenz. |
