Module BackgroundDue to an increasing environmental complexity as well as dynamic because of densely connected markets the risk situation of companies tightens and the probability for strategic errors rises parallel. New possibilities come together with higher risks. Many companies are neither methodically nor organizationally prepared to this changed situation of risks, reacting thus too late to the occurrence of risks. Numerous crises and collapses of companies, partially even degraded to balance scandals are a clear sign of missing or poorly working risk management.Early counteracting is of decisive significanceThe main task of risk management lies in recognising the relevant risks, efficient communication and an early counteracting of mal-developments so that risks of great extent can be stopped before any damage caused. This process is supported by the establishment of a risk culture. The MBA module firstly gives an overview about the basics of risk management. Emphasis lies within the most important risk types and risk management process. In the course of risk assessment and risk aggregation the necessary quantitative foundations of risk management will be in the focus of attention. |
