Hacker Attacks and IT Security

How (in-) secure are software systems and internet? How (in-) secure are mobile systems? How easy to crack are technical systems? The answer to those and further questions will be given during a Live-Hacking-Show by the Mainfränkisches Electronic Commerce Kompetenzzentrum (MECK). On the basis of a long time cooperation between the Executive MBA of the University of Würzburg and the MECK, particularly students and alumni of the MBA course are invited to join the presentation.

Attackers never sleep!

The experts Claas Rettinghausen and Oliver Achten will hold a lecture about attacks on computers and mobile end devices with corresponding safety precautions. The presentation will take place on Thursday, May 5, 2011 from 6 pm until 8 pm in lecture room 216 of the main building of the University of Würzburg (Sanderring 2, 97070 Würzburg). To advice the users of possible security-problems and thus preventing them from an inadequate use of mobile phones, smartphones and WLAN, various attacks in the field of mobile working will be presented. Mainly it will be given advice on a secure use of technology in companies.

Mobile and dangerous? Smartphones as security risk for KMU?

The Netzwerk Elektronischer Geschäftsverkehr (NEG) intents to illuminate with a countrywide survey the security of business data and proceedings in companies. The focus of attention lies within the security of mobile applications. The survey is to evaluate the following questions: Does a growing number of smartphones and mobile end devices lead in due course to a growing risk potential for companies with security standards being insufficient? Are further measures necessary? Companies can participate until May 15, 2011 in the survey at
