The participants of our MBA Class of 2011 at the University of Würzburg had the opportunity to benefit from a lecture of guest speaker Dr. Robert Blackburn. Being the Senior Vice President of BASF SE in Ludwigshafen, Dr. Blackburn has the responsibility for Global Supply Chain Operations at BASF.
Decisive criteria for successful teamsUnder the headline “Managing International Projects means Managing Cultural Differences” the MBA-students’ attention was drawn on various factors of success without neglecting possible pitfalls in International Project Management. According to Dr. Blackburn the most crucial conditions consist of the allocation of employees to places all over the world, the consideration of time differences or variations of local and cultural daily routines as well as the ability to master the English language as common base of communication. |
