Under supervision of Professor Dr. Michael Grömling (Institut der Deutschen Wirtschaft and International University of Applied Sciences Bad Honnef-Bonn) students from all over the world learn about the „Effects of Globalization“.
Start of our QIAGEN Class of 2012On Sunday, September 19, 2010, the QIAGEN Class of 2012, which is the second class of the corporate MBA program in association with the biotech company QIAGEN started the MBA studies. Within the festive framework of the Opening Ceremony at the Neubaukirche in Wuerzburg, the participants received warm welcomes from Professor Dr. Rainer Thome (Academic Director of the Executive MBA Business Integration) as well as from Professor Dr. Katrin Winkler (Associate Director Global Organizational Professional Development of QIAGEN) among others.Students from all continentsThe students, coming from all over the world – Asia, Europe and America – started directly on Monday into the two weeks lasting module “Effects of Globalization”. The participants will learn about the historical basics as well as about the recent effects of globalization under supervision of Professor Grömling and other instructors, e. g. from the European Central Bank, the University Duisburg-Essen, the University of Applied Sciences of Nuremberg and, of course, the University of Würzburg. |
Facts, opportunities, and risks of GlobalizationTopics will be facts and perspectives towards globalization as well as the development in the eurozone and the financial crisis. Through several group assignments all topics will be developed and the results will be exchanged through presentations and discussions of the students.Guided Tour at Marienberg FortressBesides the professional exchange, the personal exchange won't be missed out. For a change from the tight study program, the students may relax at visits of the Fortress Marienberg and the local brewery “Würzburger Hofbräu” and discuss with the fellow students and the instructors on a private basis. |
