Professor Rürup at the Graduation Ceremony 2010

The Graduation Ceremony of our Class of 2010 will take place in the festive surrounding of the Tuscany Hall at the Princebishop’s Residence in Würzburg on Saturday, October 23, 2010 at 4.00 pm. During the ceremony the students receive their MBA certificates after the successful completion of the two-year study program as an award for the effort during the part-time program.

A long-time Member of the German Council of Economic Experts as speaker

Professor Dr. Bert Rürup, long-time chairman of the German Council of Economic Experts, will be the keynote speaker. The economist was born in 1943 and he was Professor of Financial and Economic Policy at the University of Darmstadt from 1976 until 2009.

Inventor of the state-aided retirement pension

While he was doing his research he was also active in many ways as a political advisor, e. g. as member of a committee of the German Federal Government about the further development of the pension insurance or as chairman of the Social Advisory Council for the pension insurance. As chairman of the "Expert Commission for the Reorganization of Old Age Taxation" and the "Commission for Sustainability in Financing the Social Security Systems" he is known as the father of the "Rürup retirement pension".

Professors, Graduates, and Relatives

Besides Professor Rürup, Professor Dr. Rainer Thome, Academic Director of the Executive MBA Business Integration, will give a speech during the Graduation Ceremony. Furthermore, representatives from Boston University, numerous professors of the University of Würzburg, many alumni of the Executive MBA Business Integration as well as the relatives of this year’s graduates are going to participate.

Networking at the champagne reception

After the presentation of the MBA certificates through the Dean of Studies of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration of the Julius-Maximilians-University of Würzburg, Professor Dr. Hansrudi Lenz, there exists the possibility for the graduates to look back on the past months of the MBA studies during a champagne reception as well as to create networks with the other graduates.
