Start of Class of 2011

Our new Class of 2011 has started its two-year part time MBA program with the module „Effects of Globalization“. The new students were welcomed at the Julius-Maximilians-University of Würzburg within the framework of the festive opening ceremony at the Neubaukirche by the dean of the faculty of economics, Professor Dr. Martin Kukuk, and the Academic Director of the Executive MBA Business Integration, Professor Dr. Rainer Thome.

Within his speech, Professor Thome emphasized especially the chances and opportunities that globalization offers to Germany as a business location – even times of crisis. Afterwards, the Class of 2011 took a meal at the university cafeteria before starting with the lectures of the first module.

The following days of the two-week module were filled with intense discussions about current economic issues. Within that, theoretical economic basics and concepts were addressed as well as controversial topics like the questions, which will be the future of employment in Germany, which factors push the structural change and if the integration of the world economy is reasonable at all.
