Management meets Philosophy at the Alumni-Day 2009

The current financial and economic crisis has lead to a great confusion in all areas. Therefore at the Alumni-Day we are trying to show new and uncommon ways to get out of the crisis.

At the alumni workshop on October 24, 2009 at 1.30 pm Professor Dr. Karl-Heinz Lembeck, holder of the chair of philosophy at the University of Würzburg is talking about the topic: “When a means becomes an end: the homo œconomicus – not a hunter but a disdainful gatherer?”

Which is the perception from a philosophical point of view on the current financial and economic crisis? Are we able to find answers to the currently ubiquitous questions and solutions out of the crisis at Plato, Aristotle or Kant?

As a declared expert in the fields of cognitive science, philosophy of science and philosophy of mind, Professor Lembeck will offer a top-class insight into the conflicts between economics and philosophy. The participation fee for the workshop is 20 € per person. Registration is possible via email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
